About Me

Headshot of Ryan Doering

I’m finishing my Computer Science degree at Oregon State University (graduating in March) and am excited to begin my career as a software engineer. I enjoy building full‑stack products, cloud services, and systems that are reliable, testable, and maintainable — the kind of software teams can trust in production.

My experience spans low‑level systems work (kernel experiments and device drivers) as well as higher‑level services like REST APIs and cloud deployments. I focus on clear system design, automated testing, and repeatable deployments so engineers can move quickly with confidence.

For my senior capstone I worked on an AI‑assisted e‑commerce automation platform where I helped build execution and validation infrastructure for dynamic workflows. That project, along with other cloud and tooling work, reinforced my interest in building dependable systems that make complex tasks simpler.

I grew up in Central Oregon and the outdoors have always been a big part of my life — hiking, backpacking, and getting off the grid when I can. Time in the mountains clears the head and often sparks new ideas for side projects.

Outside of hiking I tinker with game mods and home infrastructure. I’ve built a Terraria mod to experiment with dynamic world regeneration and automated a Minecraft server deployment using Terraform, Ansible, and Docker. I also follow MMA and enjoy training — it’s an energizing counterpoint to long coding sessions.

I’m looking for roles where I can contribute to meaningful software, continue learning, and work alongside great teammates.
